Mike and Lauren

Hi there, we are Mike and Lauren! We like to travel, build things, and make videos. We plan to retire at early. If you find that stuff interesting, give us a watch.
Accidentally Bought 2 Backhoes
I needed some heavy equipment to build our mortgage free 1000 sq/ft house. After months of searching I found a decent running 1990 Ford 655C backhoe on craigslist for $12,000. The next day I found a 1995 Case 580K in my hometown for only $9,000. I foolishly bought both of them.

Pressing pause on the house build...
Просмотров 13 тыс.4 года назад
We are by no means stopping work on our 1000 sq/ft mortgage free house. But...we've decided to wait a month or two and see how things pan out before spending the $7-8,000 dollars on concrete that was planned next month. To be clear, the economy/housing market doesn't really affect our build. We're building the house for as little money out of pocket as possible, so it's not like it doesn't make...
Super CHEAP Shipping Container Office
Просмотров 67 тыс.4 года назад
One of my tenants at the warehouse asked to rent my personal office spaces for $600/mo. I decided to build myself a quick and dirty shipping container office so I could take the deal. I already had the door, windows, and window a/c so this project only cost me about $450 total. The goal of the project was to not damage the shipping container in any way with screws, welding, or holes. I used hos...
Not The Best Time To Buy Vacant Land
Просмотров 20 тыс.4 года назад
Since filming this video we've received our permits and started clearing more overgrowth. The plan is to build a 1000 sq. ft. 3 bed/2 bath house 100% mortgage free. I ended up needing to pay off the $40,000 lot loan in order to get our permits which turned out to be very bad timing with everything going on in the world right now. Not much I can do about it now except move forward! I'll be posti...
Can You Make Money as an Honest RV Dealer?
Просмотров 23 тыс.5 лет назад
Last month we bought a 2017 Keystone Hideout at auction. We took it on a quick trip to Disney Fort Wilderness Resort to make sure all the systems worked and then sold it for a quick profit. It was an experiment in absurd transparency. Thank you to the couple who bought it for making our first sale a smooth and easy transaction. Good luck with your fish camp! Gasp! We FINANCED Our First RV - Here's Why.
Просмотров 21 тыс.5 лет назад
Last week we bought our first RV at auction with a dealer's license. We signed up for what's called a "floor plan" which is basically a revolving line of credit just for vehicles. Basically we have 120 days to sell the RV and pay back the loan. Why bother when we have the cash to pay for it? Two reasons: 1. It confirms we are buying at profitable prices. If we can't afford $100-200 in interest ...
Our First DEALER ONLY Auction Experience!
Просмотров 23 тыс.5 лет назад
This week we went to our first dealer-only RV auction. It was pretty overwhelming and the prices weren't mind-blowing. Still, I think we got a great deal on our first RV "flip" in time for a quick trip before the holidays. Our goal is to "road test" the RV and then resell it for a profit to cover our trip expenses. Whether or not the idea will work is still a mystery! Learn Fusion 360 For Hobby...
Coming Out Of "Retirement" - Our Plan for 2019

Paid Off Car Club paidoffcar.com/ RV Survey mikeandlauren.com/rvsurvey In the last 2 months we've been working on three projects: 1. Finding new real estate investments. 2. Finishing our used car buying guide the "Paid Off Car Club." 3. Getting our dealers license. We're going to start traveling in an RV full time-ish in 2019, but we wanted to find a way to pay our fuel costs along the way. We ...

Bitcoin: How I Understand It
Просмотров 13 тыс.6 лет назад
I decided learn exactly how Bitcoin works before investing in it. What makes Bitcoin decentralized? What is the Blockchain? How can the price keep going up!?! Did the bubble already pop? I try to understand what cryptocurrency miners are actually doing behind the scenes. Is it still worth mining in 2018? The price of Antminers have dropped significantly, but the profit margins are still a littl...
Thoughts on Harbor Freight's New "Premium" Brands
Просмотров 263 тыс.6 лет назад
I'm just getting back into the shop after a month remodeling and listing Unit 4 in our warehouse. I had some thoughts about Harbor Freight introducing "premium" brands like Vulcan, Daytona, Bauer, Hercules, Doyle, Earthquake and Pierre in the last few years. Are they becoming a more reputable tool brand? Or, are they just manufacturing a few loss leaders to change their image. Coupon Database: ...
How I Program WITHOUT Knowing How to Code
Просмотров 23 тыс.6 лет назад
Most of my projects involve woodworking, metal fabrication or 3D printing. Occasionally I need to program an Arduino or Raspberry Pi to do some task that is specific to my project. The problem is, I've never made it a priority to learn how to code. This video is my guide to using existing projects and tutorials online as a foundation for your own programs. Heavily Modified $239 Dollar TRAILER (Deck, Rails, and Ramp)
Просмотров 63 тыс.6 лет назад
I wanted a compact but practical trailer to pull behind my scooter as well as our minivan. I decided on a $239 Harbor Freight/Northern Tool kit trailer as the base for my customizations. I packed a lot of features into this tiny trailer (40" x 48") 1. Added a v-nose extending the deck to 68 inches. 2. Added 6" high rails on all sides. 3. Welded the previously bolted joints. 4. Converted to LED ...

This just popped up in my feed,l used to follow you two up till about 5 years ago. I was wandering what you have been doing since?
you wannna drag it as you rock it. . if you just cutting lifting up,moving, back in etc repeat will take forever you can open one in like6 or 8 motions if youregood it feels like dragging a knife through something almost goodluck
So how did u get your RV dealer license?
30 times more likely to say good buy world riding a two wheeler... Why do i have this notion that if people are going to use these unsafe machines, special roads and regulated speed limits are needed
Pointless.
I have seen aquarium ponds built with polystyrene.
Why not use polystyrene and coat with cement? It's light and easier to shape.
How about an update on where you’re at?
scooters are considered motorcycles just to put that out there ik 9 year old video
How did you wire that switch!!? That is so cool I've never seen that before
What´s up? 4 years since any update...😢
Kakean cocot
You spend 264 how much could you have saved?? I say you got a great price
GREAT video and demonstration. If you wanted to put put more than one camera on the trailer (e.g. 3 cameras: 1 rear, left side, and right side), what connector would you have used? The quick disconnect part you listed shows 7 pins which I believe would work for me as well. For additional context, I want to put the rear and side cameras on my trailer (35' travel trailer) so that when I'm backing up or turning, I can still see what is behind the trailer.
Apparently, video requires specifications that the POLLAK plug may interfere with. May have to revisit this idea for an alternative solution.
Super cool man!
As a FIRE INTJ since 6/2020 I married someone who is the complete opposite me. Why have more of the same when the team is better off with diverse interests, skills and abilities? I did not want to marry another Robot! ;))
Thank for your efforts. I’m sure it took an experienced engineer to develop the original one.
I've been hauling a four wheeled farm wagon framed bicycle camper with my electric bicycle put a class one hitch on an added wooden box on the back of my cargo bike... tow bar weighs 8 lbs and there's not much tongue weight to worry about or the results in forklift
Looking at this video in the year 2024 and I must say a $15,000 car is not bad lol. Inflation has gotten insane
Are u guys alive?
I am a reseller. I buy items from a certain auction I like. It’s all new stuff that either didn’t get delivered or was sent back. I buy laptop batteries almost on a daily basis. I get them for 2.99 each. I’ve been looking for an idea of what to use them for. Think I found it
did it last long?
Thailand is the modern mecca for scooter manufacturing.
in the netherlands, scooters are only allowed to go 45kmp
So tired of these couples who have joint accounts and got married young. I’m a 36 year old physician who has worked hard to earn my high income now. My future husband makes 1/3 of what I make. He is not a budgeter and I am. I need to hear from a high income female professional. I am finalizing our prenup. Women need to protect themselves and their assets, especially if they are high earners!
I still get Fusion360 training progress reminders. Loved this channel
They are dangerous because they can't keep up speed with other vehicles I would like to think that you can be safe but it's not safe because people can't always slow down in time to keep from hitting someone. I just say be safe, i ride scooter's all the time but I know that it's dangerous to ride one on roads where the speed limit exceeds 40mph.
Another 3 years later... still in the same place!
This is exactly what I was looking for and for the exact same tools 👍🏼👍🏼
I just realized how old this video was. 😆 He probably doesn’t even have that truck anymore…
Awesome build! Just a thought…Would it help to put a sheet of plywood (with a small ledge) underneath so that you could slide it out to get to the stuff in the back of the bottom storage?
I bought a keyless entry kit, I thought the brown wire was for horn & the white wire was for lights? Had an estimate to install, guy said $600 on. My s10
I miss your guy's channel.
I ride a scooter and years ago I noticed that the heavy the scooter is better for windy 🌬️ days If you ride a kymco downtown 300 and the xciting 500 you notice the difference and you can go slow if you want
are these plans still available? The link does not work
Divorse?
made can opener of inox metal to avoid rust, not ordinary iron
6 years later how did the locks hold up?
Got an electric scooter (moped) literally costs under a £1/$1 to charge both batteries, she’s got 80 mile range very zippy and responsive only need her to travel from village to town to city and back for work often ride alongside co-worker who’s bike has to warm up heading home love her 💙
This is very dangerous this man weld direct to the battery with a big steel bare its get really hot your battery dead very fast on overheating and Thermal run a way. Do not try this at home if want fire works do what this guy. Only use a DC spot weld and nickel on battery.
Driving a car made me a safer motorcycle driver. Riding the motorcycle made me a safer car driver. As they said, "know your enemy"
Great idea
Yeah the printer may be "cheap" but how about the materials to make stuff ? Bet that's not cheap. So sell the machine cheap and stick it to consumers with the product to make everything.
What's the name of the plug you have connected to it?
Fine!!!
This is what happens when your money comes too easy and you have more money than brains If this is the first time something like this has happened to you in your life well that is pretty pathetic Oh... you're on a work site get some damn boots
Amazing!... thank you, thank you, thank you! My first time seeing you online. I have subbed, and be watching your other videos.
This video came as a life saver! Thank You
I own all three as well, a car, motorcycle (big one), and a scooter and the scooter is hands down THE most fun, and easiest. I have to put on all my safety gear to go on the bike, but the scooter is just whatever I'm wearing, and my helmet is in the trunk under the seat. SO easy, and perfect for grocery getting.
Can u build me 72v?? Im in Florida 😊
